Low Tide, Extra High Tide

The remains of Pier 4, off Montague Street, showed prominently at low tide on Wednesday, Oct. 26 (top). At shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday, an unusually high “king tide” left little showing. The tide, caused by rare configuration of the sun, moon and earth, suggested what will happen with ocean levels rising because of climate change.
