$20M for DUMBO’s Belgian Block Streets

At the DUMBO Improvement District’s annual meeting Tuesday night, elected officials and the group’s leaders announced that the city has dedicated an additional $20 million for a second phase of reconstruction of DUMBO’s historic Belgian block streets. The funds will also be used to upgrade the temporary Pearl Street Triangle to create a world-class plaza space between the triangle itself and the Manhattan Bridge archway.

“The reconstruction of DUMBO’s historic Belgian block streets is essential to preserving the integrity of this important landmark district,” said Councilman Steve Levin.
