CB 6 Looks at Proposed Modification to Landmarked Coignet Stone Building

Will Also Discuss New DEP Building

COBBLE HILL — The Community Board (CB) 6 Landmarks and Land Use Committee will discuss several items involving applications before the Landmarks Preservation Commission at its meeting set for 6 p.m. on . Thursday, Dec. 1, in the Cobble Hill Community Room, 250 Baltic St., between Court and Clinton streets.

The items are described as follows:

• Rooftop alterations at 36 Montgomery Place, between Eighth Avenue and Prospect Park West in the Park Slope Historic District.

• Proposed modification to the individually landmarked New York and Long Island Coignet Stone Company Building at 360-370 Third Ave. (aka 230 Third St.), to create a 5-foot offset line from the building.

The committee will also review the Citywide Statement of Needs for Fiscal Years 2013 and 2014, which provides information on facilities the city intends to site, expand, replace or consolidate during the next two fiscal years — including one in CB 6 involving the construction of a new building at the Department of Environmental Protection site at 727 Hicks St. to consolidate its Water Shaft Maintenance and Bureau of Water Supply Operations personnel at one site.
